Pharmacological Effect

Physiological Function

Methylcobalamin is a drug for the treatment of peripheral nerve disorders. Compared with other vitamin B12 preparations, it has good transmissibility to nerve tissue. It can promote nucleic acid-protein-lipid metabolism through methyl conversion reaction and repair damaged nerve tissue. It plays the role of coenzyme in the process of synthesizing methionine from homocysteine, especially participates in the synthesis of thymidine from deoxyuridine nucleoside, and promotes the synthesis of DNA and RNA. In addition, in the experiment of glial cells, the drug increases the activity of methionine synthase and promotes the synthesis of myelin lipid lecithin. Improving metabolic disorders of nervous tissue can promote the synthesis of axons and their proteins, make the transport speed of bone proteins close to normal, and maintain the function of axons. Methylcobalamin injection can also inhibit the abnormal excitatory conduction of nerve tissue, promote the maturation and division of erythroblasts, and improve anemia. Methylcobalamin can quickly restore the red blood cell count, hemoglobin, and hematocrit value of rats that were reduced due to B12 deficiency. Applied to megaloblastic anemia and peripheral nerve disorders caused by lack of vitamin B12.

Pharmacological Effect

Methylcobalamin is a derivative of vitamin B12. It is named after its chemical structure. It should be called "methyl vitamin B12". It can promote the metabolism of fat, stimulate the synthesis of lecithin in Schwann cells, repair the damaged myelin sheath, and improve the nerve conduction velocity; it can directly enter the nerve cells and stimulate the regeneration of damaged axons; stimulate the protein synthesis of nerve cells, strengthen Axon anabolism, prevent axon degeneration; participate in nucleic acid synthesis, promote hematopoietic function. Clinically, it is often used in the treatment of diabetic neuropathy, and its long-term use also has a certain effect on the complications of large blood vessels in diabetes. Methylcobalamin is mainly used for peripheral neurological diseases caused by diabetes and megaloblastic anemia caused by lack of vitamin B12. It is widely used clinically with few side effects.

Usage
It is used to treat nervous system diseases, relieve pain and numbness, quickly relieve neuralgia, improve pain caused by cervical spondylosis, and treat sudden deafness, etc.
